{"id":974,"date":"2015-06-08T19:09:29","date_gmt":"2015-06-08T19:09:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jessgramp.net\/recipes\/?p=974"},"modified":"2023-02-09T00:34:56","modified_gmt":"2023-02-09T00:34:56","slug":"chicken-broth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jessgramp.com\/recipes\/chicken-broth\/","title":{"rendered":"Chicken broth"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A recipe I just saw on <a title=\"Regina\u2019s chicken noodle soup\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/food\/recipes\/reginas_chicken_noodle_11941\">Nigel Slater&#8217;s eating together<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>INGREDIENTS<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>chicken pieces, skinned\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>2 whole brown onions, peeled<\/li>\n<li>2 sweet potato peeled and sliced<\/li>\n<li>4 carrots, peeled and sliced<\/li>\n<li>celery swedes, peeled and sliced<\/li>\n<li>1 celery<\/li>\n<li>1 leek<\/li>\n<li>bay leaf<\/li>\n<li>2 chicken stock cubes<\/li>\n<li>2 beef stock cubes<\/li>\n<li>2 litres of water<\/li>\n<li>1 bay leaf<\/li>\n<li>freshly cracked pepper<\/li>\n<li>rice vermicelli noodles, cooked<\/li>\n<li>butter beans, warmed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0METHOD<\/p>\n<p>Place the chicken pieces in the bottom of a large pan. Add all the veg, bay leaf, stock and water. Bring to the boil, then skim off and discard the froth. Season with pepper and then leave on a medium heat for 4 hours, bubbling gently. Strain all the vegetables and chicken out of the broth\u00a0and discard these. Leave the broth to cool and then skim off the fat. Reheat when ready to serve\u00a0the chicken broth.
