{"id":60,"date":"2008-08-24T19:52:02","date_gmt":"2008-08-24T09:52:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jessgramp.com.au\/wordpress\/?p=60"},"modified":"2023-02-09T00:34:59","modified_gmt":"2023-02-09T00:34:59","slug":"grandma-westmorelands-scones","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jessgramp.com\/recipes\/grandma-westmorelands-scones\/","title":{"rendered":"Grandma Westmoreland&#039;s scones"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>These are Gramma Westy\u2019s legendary scones, which she used to make at least twice a week, and always if there were guests for morning tea.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>INGREDIENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 cups SR flour<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon baking powder<br \/>\n1 dessertspoon butter, melted<\/li>\n<li>1 cup milk<\/li>\n<li>1 egg, beaten<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>METHOD<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Preheat oven to 220 degrees.<\/li>\n<li>Add milk and egg to melted butter and mix together.<\/li>\n<li>Sift flour and baking powder together.\u00a0 Make a well in the centre and pour in wet ingredients.\u00a0 Mix together lightly (Mum used to do this with a knife) and knead briefly on a floured surface.<\/li>\n<li>Cut into circular shapes (a small glass makes a good cutter, or Mum used to cut roughly into squares) and place together on a greased baking tray. (They need to be placed together to help them to rise)<\/li>\n<li>Baked in a preheated oven for approx 10 minutes.
