{"id":552,"date":"2013-01-13T13:25:45","date_gmt":"2013-01-13T13:25:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jessgramp.net\/recipes\/?p=552"},"modified":"2023-02-09T00:34:57","modified_gmt":"2023-02-09T00:34:57","slug":"daal-saag","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jessgramp.com\/recipes\/daal-saag\/","title":{"rendered":"Daal Saag"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>How to make an Indian Saag or Daal Saag (with lentils).<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>INGREDIENTS<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>300g spinach, washed and roughly chopped<\/li>\n<li>1 tin lentils (optional)<\/li>\n<li>1 large onion, chopped<\/li>\n<li>2 inch piece of ginger, chopped<\/li>\n<li>3 cloves garlic, crushed<\/li>\n<li>sesame oil<\/li>\n<li>1\/3 cup yoghurt<\/li>\n<li>100g tomatoes, \u00a0chopped<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon cardamom<\/li>\n<li>1 cinnamon stick<\/li>\n<li>2 teaspoons coriander<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon cumin<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon cayenne pepper<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon salt<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>METHOD<\/p>\n<p>Steam the spinach, then blend and set aside. Blend the onion, garlic, ginger and 1\/4 cup of water until smooth. In a large pan, fry the spices and blended onion mix on a high heat until browned. Add the yoghurt, tomatoes, spinach and lentils (if using).
