{"id":33,"date":"2008-07-20T00:00:30","date_gmt":"2008-07-19T14:00:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jessgramp.com.au\/wordpress\/?p=33"},"modified":"2023-02-09T00:35:00","modified_gmt":"2023-02-09T00:35:00","slug":"falafel-rolls","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jessgramp.com\/recipes\/falafel-rolls\/","title":{"rendered":"Falafel rolls"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My favourite takeaway at home&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>INGREDIENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>wrap<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>6 wholemeal pieces of lebanese bread<\/li>\n<li>6 lettuce leaves<\/li>\n<li>3 tomatoes, sliced<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 Spanish onion, sliced<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>houmous<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 1\/2 cups cooked chickpeas<\/li>\n<li>3 tablespoons tahini paste<\/li>\n<li>3 cloves garlic, curshed<\/li>\n<li>3 tablespoons lemon juice<\/li>\n<li>2 tablespoons water<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>falafel<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>435g canned chickpeas<\/li>\n<li>1 large onion, grated<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon ground coriander<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon ground cumin<\/li>\n<li>1 pinch chilli powder<\/li>\n<li>1 clove garlic, crushed<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 teaspoon salt<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup wholemeal flour to coat<\/li>\n<li>1 tablespoon olive oil<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>METHOD<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To make falafel rolls, place chickpeas in a food processor and process until roughly chopped. Place chopped chickpeas in a bowl with remaining falafel ingredients, except oil. Mix well.Form tablespoons of mixture into patties. Heat oil in a frypan and cook patties until golden brown.<\/p>\n<p>To make houmous, place all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth.<\/p>\n<p>Spread houmous on lebanese bread.
